Apple's new M3 MacBook Air models

While they are available today, Apple's new M3 MacBook Air models will be released on Friday.

On Friday, March 8, Apple's recently revealed M3 MacBook Air models will be available in retailers. The potent M3 processors found in the new 13- and 15-inch laptops are said to provide a speed boost that allows them to operate "up to 60 percent faster" than the M1 MacBook Air. Additionally, according to Apple, the new PCs have an impressive 18-hour battery life. Even though they lack the high-end features of the company's MacBook Pro family, they are still more than capable choices for managing all of your daily work and play.

As of today, March 7, 2024, both gadgets are still available for preorder, so if you're ready to upgrade, you can purchase them before they are officially released tomorrow. If you intend to purchase a new Apple laptop, make sure to reserve yours in advance since the available machines are expected to sell out rapidly. Remember the essential add-ons, like as a wireless mouse, to protect your brand-new trackpad.

There are currently new M3 MacBook Air variants available.

Starting at $1,099 for the 13-inch MacBook Air and $1,299 for the 15-inch model, pre-orders are being accepted for two new combinations of Apple's portable 13- and 15-inch laptop computers. The updated 16-core M3 processor and an integrated GPU, which allows the laptops to do intensive graphics tasks like mesh shading and ray tracing, will be included with both models.

The two new MacBook models are identical, with the 13-inch MacBook Air being the smaller of the two. Except for size, the two models are exactly the same. However, let's dissect what you're receiving.

You get a GPU capable of handling ray tracing and mesh shading, as well as the recently improved integrated M3 chip to supercharge speed, particularly when it comes to more complicated tasks—perfect if you use your MacBook for gaming. Along with its sleek design and light weight of 2.5 pounds, the MacBook Air also has all the other features you undoubtedly already adore.

Additionally, a 500-nit brightness Liquid Retina display is included. In addition to having two Thunderbolt connections for fast transfers and MagSafe charging, it also supports two external displays in case you'd rather use a regular monitor. With its improved battery life, which Apple claims is 18 hours, you can continue working or playing games all day.

The 8GB of RAM that comes standard with this model can be upgraded to 16GB or 24GB. It has a 256GB base storage capacity that can be upgraded to 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB. Invest in more RAM if you are a multitasker and want to accomplish multiple things at once.

This larger edition's six-speaker sound system is the sole thing that sets it apart from the M3 MacBook Air; the 13-inch model only has four speakers. To put it simply, you should get the larger laptop if you want somewhat better sound.

A larger screen, a Liquid Retina with 50 nits of brightness and support for an external display, is also included. This model costs $1,299 and is offered in a variety of combinations.

Although a 16GB or 24GB RAM variant is also an option, the base model has 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There are also 1TB and 2TB models available for storage.
