Four Top Models, Four Continents, One Step Closer to the Crown

 



The runway came alive at the spectacular Trident Hyderabad as the 72nd Miss World Top Model Competition took center stage, blending high fashion with purpose, identity, and the global spirit of Miss World.

Out of 108 dazzling contestants from around the globe, four continental winners were crowned during the evening, each securing a fast-track spot in the 72nd Miss World Festival Quarterfinals.

  • Europe: Jasmine Gerhardt – Ireland 
  • Africa: Selma Kamanya – Namibia
  • Asia & Oceania: Nandini Gupta – India 
  • Americas & Caribbean: Aurélie Joachim – Martinique Continental runners-up included Karen Jansen (Belgium), Fatoumata Coulibaly (Côte d’Ivoire), Sammi Anni (New Zealand), and Valeria Cannavò (Venezuela).The evening also celebrated the winners of the World Designer Award, honoring national identity and creativity through evening gown design:
    • Americas & Caribbean: Valeria Pérez – Puerto Rico 
    • Africa: Zoalize van Rensburg – South Africa 
    • Europe: Yelyzaveta Melnychenko – Ukraine 
    • Asia & Oceania: Sammi Anni – New Zealand 
  • Hosted by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle, the Top Model event was more than a showcase of style, it was a celebration of confidence, culture, and unity.

    The 108 delegates also wore designs by Archana Kochhar, celebrating Indian fashion and Telangana’s fabrics.

SpaceX completes 300th Falcon booster landing during Starlink mission

  S paceX completed a Falcon 9 launch, highlighted by the company’s 300th booster landing to date. The Starlink 6-53 mission also marked the 30th orbital launch from Florida in 2024. Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station happened at 6:17 p.m. EDT (2217 UTC). The 45th Weather Squadron forecast a greater than 95 percent chance of favorable weather at liftoff. The Falcon 9 first-stage booster supporting this mission, tail number B1078, made its ninth launch on this flight. It previously launched NASA’s Crew-6 mission to the International Space Station, USSF-124, and five Starlink flights. About eight and a half minutes after liftoff, B1078 landed on the SpaceX droneship, ‘Just Read the Instructions.’ In addition to this being the 300th Falcon booster landing overall, it was the 79th landing for JRTI and the 233rd droneship landing to date. NASA’s Newest Spaceplane: Dream Chaser Tenacity Arrives at Kennedy Space Center

After rigorous pre-launch testing, it is scheduled to deliver 7,800 pounds of cargo using a ULA Vulcan rocket. As part of NASA’s efforts to expand commercial resupply in low Earth orbit, Sierra Space’s uncrewed spaceplane arrived at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida ahead of its first flight to the International Space Station (ISS).
